five minute Friday

Friend #FiveMinuteFriday

Friday, April 25, 2014

Here is Lisa Jo's challenge:

Write whatever comes to mind for five minutes on this topic: friends.
No editing--makes mer nervous! ;)

Go.

There are these girls that float into my mind when I think "friend." Ones that I have known since I was twelve, ones I just met, ones I have only known a few years. We all have this gut connection where we go about our in and out and upside down days and connect the dots to each other on and off over and over. Every time it feels like we never skewed off the radar. Like we never stopped talking and life didn't keep rolling on.

What is this connection?
This gift?
This joyous thing we have?

Friendship.

We belly laugh in our snot stained sweats, we cry tears of desperation on the days we think we cannot handle one more bedtime, we shop, we drink, we eat lots of chocolate and we pour into each other's souls over and over again. Over texts, calls, play dates, shopping trips and birthday parties. We are friendship family. Until we meet again in the coffee shop, on the cell phone or shared laughter over our husbands antics. May our dots keep connecting on the ups, downs and in betweens. We are fully known and ourselves and words have little guard upon them. You are each a part of me. I love you dear friends. Especially if you bring chocolate ;)

Honestly with love,
Rach
